The Zanzibar Utility Regulatory Authority (ZURA) is a
multi-sector regulatory authority established under the ZURA Act No. 7 of 2013.
And it began to work in April 2015 after the appointment of the director
general and the board of directors.
The primary responsibility of ZURA is to regulate Water
& Energy sectors in Zanzibar economically and technically.
Our vision is to predictable standard regulator on quality
of water and energy service, while our mission is to regulate energy and water
services in stimulating economic efficiency to ensure availability and
accessibility of quality services to the public.
ZURA’s core values include transparency, accountability,
integrity accord with independence, professionalism, teamwork, effectiveness
and Efficiency in order to provide quality and ensure continuous improvement of
services.
ZURA establish Investment
Portfolio so as to efficiently raise awareness on its role and
responsibilities. This platform allows Zanzibar Utilities Regulatory Authority
(ZURA) to showcase its services which lead to improve and sustain abilities of
Utilities to offer best services and encourage investments in the Water and
Energy Sectors that will enhance economic growth and social development in
Zanzibar.
